• Currently employed at the GS-4 level working as a Student Biological Trainee involved in the Student Career Experience Program (SCEP) program. Duties include assisting full-time biologists in daily activities and participation in field work.
• Experienced with boat and backpack electro fishing techniques. This project was part of a study designed to assess the effects of mountaintop removal mining and its associated valley fills.
• Experienced with salamander collection and identification.
• Experienced with techniques of macro invertebrate collection.
• Assisted Partners for Wildlife with a wetlands restoration project by planting several tree species. I have also assessed sites for wetland restoration potential.
• Participated in the process of wetland delineation.
• Completed a manual. This manual includes short habitat descriptions of all amphibians and reptiles and includes a reference chart used for quickly finding a species and the various habitats where it may be found, and also a location map for each species. This document is available upon request.
• Authored a paper analyzing the effects of coal mining on the environment and the economy. This document is available upon request.
• Completed scientific literature database that is a useful source of information for biologists.
