Jane Smith is an exceptional young woman. Last year when I was volunteering for a local charity, I recognized her as being one of my students from the Astronomy class. I understand that she is applying to the MBA program at your school and would like to recommend her admission.

As part of the end-semester project, she had developed a software model of the Andromeda galaxy. The size and complexity of this project was unusually high for the nature of the course. What impressed me is that at the time she was developing the project, she was finance secretary of the Astronomy Society and a volunteer for the homeless. All this was in addition to her other courses. This heavy workload did not reduce the quality of her output.
